Cheers to a New Year!


Welcome to the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017! This is the momentous night where people celebrate the end of one year and the birth of another. With that comes all those resolutions and gym people. To the gym resolution people, I applaud them and say do it… just stick to it this time! Some of us though have a hard time finding that resolution to push us to be better than we were in 2016. Whether that is mental, physically, emotionally, or even fiscally. Here are 4 resolutions to consider adding to your list this year to help you be a better you!

1.    Improve Your Credit

This may seem like a daunting task to some people because of student loan debt, car payments, health insurance, and rent or a mortgage. But check out sites like Credit Karma that will give you free advice on how to better improve your credit score with simple steps. Decide this year to raise your credit score by 50 points.  

2.    Daily Warmup

Before or after the shower, try doing just ten pushups to help get your blood flowing. Most of us are “too busy” for the gym or already go, but adding this simple routine in the morning will get you pumped and ready for the day more than a cup of coffee will. I still suggest having that cup of coffee.

3.    Drink More Water

How much water do you drink? Do you drink enough? Or is your day more focused around that next cup of coffee? While coffee technically doesn’t dehydrate you, it does trick your body into believing you are not thirsty. If you need coffee to survive, work on alternating a cup of coffee and a cup of water. Or, better yet, always have water handy.

4.    Have Yourself a Mentor

Say what? A mentor? Yes! Go out there and find someone this year who is willing to meet with you twice a month to talk about your career and life goals. Someone who is in a position that you want to be in. Having a mentor to guide you will take a lot of stress off your shoulders and help you stay focused throughout 2017!
